Moving mode is used for moving parts (pieces) of picture. You can also enter it by pressing
.Unlike selecting a rectangle and dragging it to desired destination as usual in other graphical editors, Shades offer easier handling of the whole process. You do not need to manually select, create or suggest any outline of what is to be moved - we're talking about Simutrans pictures, so the piece to move is surrounded by background color, which is used in automatical detection of the piece's boundaries. All you have to do to select a piece is point and click. Then the piece is cut out of picture and moves with mouse cursor. Next click places it back into picture on the current position. You can cancel the process with right mouse button.
Moving mode goes hand-in-hand with using custom backgrounds and these two together allow Shades to function as a perfect aligning tool. Just load align template into background and move things to correct positions.
Moving mode toolbar does not offer anything interactive. When you are moving a piece of picture, its mini-preview is shown here, but this is more an eye candy than useul feature.
